How Infosys and Mining Journal produced a roundtable and white paper on mining and Blockchain
Mining Journal partnered with Infosys on hosting a roundtable in Toronto comprising of eight senior executives from mining organisations with varied levels of experience with Blockchain.
As a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting, Infosys wanted to establish a thought leadership position with senior executives at mining companies on how they can provide consulting expertise and innovation with Blockchain.
The content was supported with primary research conducted by Mining Journal on level of knowledge and planned adoption. Target audience: C-Suite decision makers from major mining organisations.
Over a two-hour period, the group shared views on this technology, including first-hand experience through implementation case studies or proof-of-concept projects.
To support the roundtable, Mining Journal conducted a ‘straw poll’ of more than 700 subscribers to gain insight on the level of knowledge and planned adoption to support the debate. The discussion was also supplemented with knowledge from Infosys’ blockchain experts, whilst moderated by our head of research to provide context.
The conversation revealed the industry’s position on near-term applications that may imminently provide practical success stories, as well as longer-term applications that could be possible once familiarity and acceptance of the technology is embedded in mining. The roundtable also covered challenges such as integrating blockchain as part of a digital transformation strategy and general scepticism or resistance to chance, with 26% of our research respondents saying blockchain was not relevant.
